Killers of the Flower Moon
I felt a profound sense of responsibility while working on the set, given the film's focus on the Osage Nation and the "Reign of Terror" in 1920s Oklahoma. As a Cherokee, I felt a personal connection to the project. One of the highlights of my time on set was when I received a rare compliment from Martin Scorsese that he, "really liked it."
Isle of Dogs
Unlike the large-scale commercial murals I regularly worked on where people are rarley focusing on a 2-inch wide section, the work for Wes Anderson was the opposite. This projecct allowed me to revel in obsessing over the details. The painting above is a background panel that appears in the first few minutes of the movie. It is seen while the narrator dog, Jupiter, provides the history of how the Isle of Dogs came to be.
Tulsa King
On the first season of Tulsa King (2022), I worked as the scenic foreman. In this position, I translated the production designer’s vision into actionable tasks for the scenic painting team, ensuring consistency across various sets. I worked closely with construction coordinators and scenic shops to ensure that sets were painted and finished on tight production schedules.
Dallas Theater Center
Working as a scenic artist for the Dallas Theater Center, I helped create large backdrops, floor treatments, and aging furniture to look like 19th-century heirlooms. This role was very collaborative working with other scenic artist to make sure the vision comes to life.
