Watercolor Renderings for Holiday at the Dallas Arboretum

The Pauline and Austin Neuhoff Family Christmas Village, first started as watercolor renderings. This annual installation is inspired by traditional European Christmas Markets. My work on this project transformed an idea into a whimsical, physical reality starting with this series of intricate watercolor renderings.

Each shop, from the bakery and the apothecary to the toy shop, required a unique visual identity. I used difference architectual elements of varying facade materials, rooflines, and window trims to give the village an “old-world” feel. These designs were scaled up into 16-to-19-foot-tall structures.
